I'm not ready to buy on Miss St. - its a character issue with that team.
Vandy I'd bet would see the second weekend of the tourney.

The SEC is dangerous this year. It's an under-rated league, imo.

The SEC is dangerous this year. It's an under-rated league, imo. I don't see it. It's still UK and the 11 dwarfs just as it has been. It will be tough on the road at those football schools that think basketball is a sport to keep their footballers in shape during the winter. The only SEC team standing by the second week of the NCAA tourney will be UK.

I think we're better than we were 3 years ago and we've seen a steady improvement. I think we also won the SEC/Big East challenge this year didn't we?
I haven't paid enough attention to other teams to really know how we stack up in comparison to the Big 10. I know the ACC is down this year and you don't hear much out of the Pac 12.

I haven't seen this week's polls, but the Pac 10, {or12}, didn't even have a team ranked last week. I think the SEC only had 3 ranked. It's pathetic how the other SEC schools are about basketball. They would all love to beat UK. Other than that, they couldn't care less.

The SEC is recruiting better,JD. I think the SEC landed more players in the top 50 than any league.
The real issue in the SEC are the referees...they are either corrupt, incompetent or both.

I think they are going to admit their approach to handling charges under the basket was a huge failure this year and change it. They have to. Everyone is complaining.

^ for one thing, just because the defender is outside the little circle doesn't automatically make it a freakin' charge...you've still got a decision to make

Games would not be near as close in the SEC if the frikkin' orificecials would call legitimate holding grabbing and charging fouls.
The incompetence of SEC officials is off the chart, for that matter allowing the disgraced official from the NCAA to officiate in the SEC at all is a disgrace.

Florida will be dangerous, Vandy at the "special gym", Miss State because they have an axe to grind and their players get out of house arrest during games. Alabama has a good coach, however I think that we play Miss State and Alabama at home not that that really matters if the offcials are "assigned" correctly.
Need to tough out the first 8 games and the kids will have a feel for people attempting to introduce them to the corn. I'm not worried, we got a group of players that are big time competitors that seem to step up.
Its fairly amazing the crap teague gets, short memories, last year Knight was catching hell and we were losing every other game for a bit. I'm still of the opinion that some of the doldrum is tried legs from the three a days, I'm betting we see a bit more spring and more rebounding.

I want to beat Vandy on their own floor this year. Probably more than any SEC win.
