Word going around that Derek Willis fromBullit East is going to announce soon..Several have said he will be a Cat. 6'9 and very thin...Not sure how I think about this if true..We need some beef on the front line..

He's a 2013 player, so we have time to beef up the inside. He's a top 40 player and will be around more than 1 year. Not a bad player to have on the bench for a while.

Willis can really handle the ball and shoots really well for a big guy. He's more athletic that Wiltjer, but not really a high riser. I believe he's a much better defensive player than Wiltjer is right now.

Not sure how I feel about this. That class is absolutely loaded and we are in on most of the top 10 kids. I know we won't get them all, but there are 4-5 kids I would take over him right now at his position.

I know we won't get them all, but there are 4-5 kids I would take over him right now at his position. I agree with this. I am not sure I like this. I have never seen the kid play live, I don't live in Kentucky. I feel like he could be a big fish in a small pond type player because of the lack of talent in the state. I feel like every kid that has a little talent is over hyped because "locals" want him to be really good so bad. I will probably get pounded for saying that, but thats how I feel. I know Cal makes $4 million a year, and I trust him 100%. I just feel like sometimes he has a little heat on him to get the Kentucky boys. I feel like he mite do this to please the BBN. OK. Let me have it. lol. |

And I hate that "he's a Kentucky kid" crap some old timers use. I hope the best Kentucky kids go to Kentucky, if they are worthy. But to be honest most are not. Cal recruits the best of the best just like every other Blue blood. Does it really matter where the hell they are from. |

Cal and other staff have seen him several times, and if they take a commitment, then no worries, we do need to build quality depth. My son's friend starts for Fern Creek and they play BE soon, we'll go to that one and see for myself.

If Cal thinks he is good enough to play for UK, then great. I hope he comes to Ky. Not because he is a Ky kid, but because he is good enough to play here.
I don't care if Cal never gets a Ky kid if they are not good enough. UK is worldwide.

Josh Carrier and Brandon Stockton were Mr. Kentucky Basketballers and played for UK. Didn't turn out too well. Here as of the last 10 years or so, Kentucky boys haven't faired too well with the exception of Miller. It's sad he hasn't played up to his potential in every game. He has 2 rebs in his last 2 games.

Chris Lofton was a great college player--but teflonturd didn't want him--he shot the ball too good. except for CANCER that Lofton had treated during the summer before his college senior season--then Lofton would hold the all time 3P made in college for a career---but CANCER took its toll for half his senior year. T5 ignored Lofton--and the T5 minions pretended Lofton did not want to play at UK. Lofton turned down peeboy twice--and waited and waited for an offer from teflonturd. rr |
