We could sure used him right away but if your out of scholarships then you have to go some other place if you want to play now. Cal may keep a scholarship open next few yrs for just in case this comes up again. I bet Cal wishes he had done that this yr.

Stokes seems like a good kid and I'm sure he'll be a good collegiate player. He better get used to losing to Kentucky. He will probably never beat us one single time while he's a UT.

Dear Mr. Tipton;
We won anyway.
CC everyone who second guess and bitches and moans no matter how many we win, how far we go about not enough this or that or the inability to do things.
We aint going to get them all. If he was good enough and wanted to go to UK and he was as he said a "fan" in memphis, and he was recruited by Cal, he'd be here.

Exactly. If he had really wanted to be part of THE Program. If he had wanted to live in the fishbowl that is UK basketball. If he would have been a part of significance as Pat Riley would say, he could have come to UK..Instead he chose to go to UT to play in a no pressure 1/2 full house atmosphere. And, that is ok. Playing at UK is not for everybody, and evidently he did not want to be part of greatness.

The Stokes kid is a fine player. he would get Wiltjer type minutes here.
he scored 9 points in a losing cause and became a legend in Jimmy Dykes' mind.
The idiots that follow along with Dykes' way of thinking will bemoan our not having Stokes to sit on the bench.

The idiots that follow along with Dykes' way of thinking will bemoan our not having Stokes to sit on the bench. he has talent...but those making him out to be "all world" need to step back a moment.....his first half play was really solid but he struggled a bit in the second half when we changed up on him defensively....plus he got away with a couple of push in the back fouls the referees let go.... and he scored 9 points in 17 minutes...big deal....I never sweat those that choose not to come to UK....most recent example Scottie Hopson....How did that work out for him?

If we had a scholly available, then he would have been at UK. Just like the kid previously said. He was ready to play right away and didn't want to redshirt, which I don't blame him. He graduated early and wanted to get to college ASAP.. He's a brilliant kid, who will be a great college player and more than likely go to the NBA.. I would have liked to have gotten him on our squad... But he's not so fukk him.

The idiots that follow along with Dykes' way of thinking will bemoan our not having Stokes to sit on the bench. He was moving Terrence Jones on the block and still should be in high school. He would play a bunch on this team. No, he wouldn't get many minutes. He would get Wiltjer type minutes. Probably even less. Who would he play instead of? Jones? No way! MKG? Yeah right! Davis? ;D He probably wouldn't even Wiltjer minutes. Wiltjer comes in as a shooter. Stokes can't fill that role. He would be the Vargas replacement on this team. How many minutes does Vargas get? Yeah, he was fouling Jones and didn't get called for it at home. He must be a superstar!! Hell, Jimmy Dykes said so!

I could see him getting all of Vargas minutes, some of Wiltjers minutes and providing he could back down Jones in practice as he did in the game saturday, some of Jones minutes....BUT, its all moot because Polson and Beckham got the last schlorships and he is at UT. Just as you witnessed Adam Williams and his future as a "lock down defender"? #th_laff#

Got to keep up with that "wheelers crowd"--right? tipturd appreciates his supporters. rr #th_biggrin# I don't support Tipton, I read the LHL.. Do you pay for the paper? If so, then you support him. If you pick it up at the counter at Wheeler's for free, that's a little different. I'm sure you are beginning to think we are a bunch of wacky paranoid loons here, right? Maybe even goons. The NCAA, ESPN, the national media, the LHL, Tipton, Tubby, the tubby supporters crowd... Nothing wrong with those folks, right?

Just as you witnessed Adam Williams and his future as a "lock down defender"? #th_laff# Well then you can go for the dunce cap on this one. If Stokes couldn't improve this team, then stand by it and own it. I say he would help this team. I could be wrong, but I dont think so. That's not what I said, but it's certainly not below you to make something up. You can Jimmy Dykes can continue to suck on Stokes and continue to be a fan of a UT player.

Stokes played one really good game at home with the refs swallowing the whistle for most of the game. While it is true he was aggressive and played well, let's see how he does once everyone has a chance to watch some film on the kid and he doesn't get the friendly no call elsewhere. I'm not saying he isn't good (he's very good) I'm just saying he played well for his first game but the jury should still be out on how well his career turns out.
