All in just this ONE short article, Tubby says: Can't recruit kids because this gym is old Can't recruit kids because we need new practice facility Can't recruit because its a saturated market, too many pro teams Need a contract extension so people know I will finish career here We are just too young to win, but future is bright Need to fund the program like a Division I program in the Big 10 Our budget isn't big enough Ask him about recruiting and he ends up telling you: "We feed the hungry and go to the children's hospital." Oh, we have some good recruits coming in, better not get rid of me yet. The ultimate LAZY, LIAR, LOSER. T4. |

Classisc - I especially liked the picture of "Gopher madness" - no one in the upper deck and the end zone about half full. Just glad he's their problem now and not ours.
Let's compare for a moment - were 17-1, ranked #2 in the country and wondering if we will have the #1 recruiting class for the 4th year in a row. Many Soda is celebrating their first win in the Little 10 this year as well as the second win in their last 16 league games, a #48 ranking from Pomroy and they have 2 (count them, two!!!) recruits for next year! Sounds like a fair trade to me!

At UK tubbi had
Rupp arena and highest attendance at games every year,
a state of the art practice facility,
no pro teams,
a contract extension, and
a huge budget.
In 10 years how many lottery picks did he recruit to UK? Zilch. Only 2 first rounders. We had to watch games with Michael Porters and Saul Smiths and Sheray Thomas'. Year after year of plow ball, when we were promised uptempo ball. But alas, we were always too young or not deep enough because more than half of his recruits bailed. We were fed a constant barrage of how parity had taken over college basketball, while watching MSU go to 6 FFs in 12 years, Duke, Kansas, and UNC winning multiple titles.
But in the end, tubbi's final excuse for why he couldn't recruit at UK was because of the redneck fans! Funny how all of Cal's recruits mention the fans as one of the reasons they really like UK.
Minnesota really needs to wake up. They are sitting in a pot and the temperature is rising. Jump now or boil alive.
