Professor I am in the middle of that war you mention. I am voting for Trump. He is my only choice. If you think Trump will be elected by saying things on a daily basis that can be twisted to sound like they are coming from the mouth of a lunatic enjoy eight years of Hillary. Trump needs to put away his "twitter" and stay on message during rallies. Every word out of his mouth will be subject to criticism by the enemy. Where I live Trump is in a dead heat with Hillary. He can not lose this state and be president. No way. He should be up by 10 points down here. But no it seems every day the local press and national press spend hours replaying things out of his mouth that can be twisted. Meanwhile Trump refuses to advertise on television while Hillary and her special interest groups are flooding the TV and radio with things that make Trump look foolish and dangerous. A lot of people only get one side since Trump must spend his days defending words he said the day before. And these people vote.
Trump does not understand the game. He is up against the most powerful political machine in my life time and FDR was president when I was born. Trump needs to learn to listen to people who do know the game. He must understand he is not a politician and needs to listen to the advice of people who surround him. Right now he is at about 40 percent in the polls which is the base for a Republican. He should be well over 50% and should be well ahead in states like Michigan, Ohio and the rest of the rust belt where people are hurting. The media reports he is behind in GEORGIA. GEORGIA!!! If he can't win Georgia he may as well fold up his tent and exit the stage. This grass roots movement you speak of and as you correctly say was not created by Trump, will fizzle out if the candidate gets in the weeds as Trump gets in the weeds.
So yes, Trump did put his foot in his mouth by his statement. Instead of talking about Crooked Hillary, the press beat him up for three days and counting. That is not good for our cause and Trump gave them the gift through his words. And the press ran with it knowing full well they were promoting lies and not reporting what Trump really said. Trump is being pumped up by the likes of Sean Hannity and Laura Ingraham and in their eyes can do no wrong. But that is not the reality of where the voting public is. He has a lot of work to do. He can start by keeping on message.

I understand your frustration with the Trump off the cuff comments. I get frustrated with that aspect of his demeanor and style, but he is who he is, and frankly, he is not going to change. I also understand that the enemy will try to use every word he uses to hurt him by twisting the words, and changing the words. We must never allow their tactics to dissuade our determination and commitment to this nation, not a loyalty to Mr. Trump. The grass roots are deep and strong. Many of those in this grass roots are folks that have voted Democrat for decades and many many more are folks that have not voted in many years, if ever. Those who have not voted are not going to show up in the "experts" polls, especially their polls at this stage of the election when the press' purpose in the polling is to discourage Trump supporters by convincing them that this election is already over. That is right out of their standard playbook. Let's look at Pennsylvania. Over 200,000 Pennsylvanians switched their registration from D to R this past winter so they could vote for Trump. That shift alone is sufficient to swing PA from the Obama victory to a Trump victory. I do not believe for one minute the 10 point deficit that these polls now show for PA. I believe PA will be close, decided by 1 point or less in November, so on election night, I think PA results will be a bell weather of how the election will play out. If he loses PA by 10 points, I agree the election of Mr. Trump will not be possible. But, as I said earlier, I simply do not believe that will be the case. This morning, the news includes a report that confirms Obama has been intentionally misrepresenting ISIS strength by changing information to suit his message. Yesterday, the news was about the Clinton Crime Family's Pay for Play with the State Department. Watch the development of the murder of the DNC staffer who was probably the real wikileaks' source for the DNC emails, and there will be more revelations coming about Crooked Hillary's criminal activities. When the debates arrive, Mr. Trump will use them to not just drive these points home, but to publicly humiliate her on a national stage with probably 90 to 100 million Americans watching. When she is on stage, on camera, without a prompter, having to react and actually think on her feet, she is going to be further exposed as the fraud that she really is. She may even reveal signs of her health issues during the debates. I believe first and foremost that it is essential for Trump to defeat this criminal, otherwise, this nation is truly done. I also have faith in the American people to rise to the occasion in November and make a huge statement on behalf of America. Remember, Mr. Trump is not the movement, he is a tool for the movement, selected by the grass roots to head of the movement by serving as their front man. This is one of those times where success will occur despite the flaws of the man standing at the front. Need I mention King David or Moses?

Trump can say--it is a beautiful day, the sun is shining. Media will say--"TRUMP trumps global warming as beautiful"!!
and so it goes!!!
Trump can say---This factory running at 50% capacity has great potential. media will say-"TRUMP blames usa workers for poor production at factory"!!!
and so it goes.
A vote for any candidate other than TRUMP is a vote for the destruction of this country, and those voters are worse than those who enabled, defended and excused teflonturd.

Good points Professor. RR said it best, "A vote for any candidate other than TRUMP is a vote for the destruction of this country, and those voters are worse than those who enabled, defended and excused teflonturd."
We can't let Hillary win. For Trump to be president he has a narrow path. He has to win every state Romney won and then squeeze out Florida, Ohio and one or two others. The Democrat machine is devious and powerful. They will not go by the rules. For example they are against voter ID. How can anyone be against voter ID but their lapdogs in the media portray voter ID as racist. It is racist to identify yourself at the voting booth.
They also know how to get out the vote. We must win this thing.

Either way it's gonna be a shitty 4 years but one is worse than the other.

Any vote NOT for TRUMP---IS a vote for the destruction of this country. so--any VOTE not for TRUMP is telling your children, grand children and great grand children--YOU don't care about their futures. YOU will enable the total destruction of the USA by NOT voting for TRUMP!! all the rationalization, deflection, wishing, pretending--makes YOU worse than those who enabled teflonturd!! rr Destruction of the country is a little much but yeah it will be pretty shitty with Hillary. But lets not pretend it will be GREAT again with Trump ...... at least with Trump we know he won't be the one actually runnng the country he will hire people to do that while he just plays the role - which IMO is the best case senerio.

My biggest fear by far is what the supreme court will do if Hillary wins. That should scare any hard working red blooded American to death.

People need to understand what's at stake . Huge aspects of the first amendment probable total loss of the second amendment or such restrictions that the individual right to own and bare arms is functionally lost. Massive tax burdens on 20 % of taxpayers and as the stressed middle class will find out crushing new taxes loss of jobs due to lack of investment and more useless regulations. We will go to a European govt style.. We see how well that works. Medical costs so large that your are months seeing a doctor and then can't afford medicine. Unlimited immigration with no required assimilation or skill sets that benefit the us. And as all have noted. Judicial legislation that will have profound effect on our grandchildren.
dumbasses may not like trump I don't but friends he is the only choice.
Many here dislike Cruz but I guarantee he will vote trump. I personally would like to see Cruz as president but idiots should not be stupid enough To write him in or anyone else or vote 3rd parties et al. If the moderates republican and never trumps inclusive of tea party folks don't vote or waste the vote then we as a country will get what we deserve a crook in the White House elite rule. And I believe true rioting in the streets when people finally see the light and realize how screwed they are. NO CHOICE vote Trump for some modicum of hope and strangely enough sanity in the way our country goes

Yesterday Trump was in my state and when he is campaigning here the local TV station plays his speech in it's entirety. I watched every second of what he had to say. At no time did he act like a lunatic or a dangerous person. He was calm and collected and stayed on message. He had a large enthusiastic crowd. Now one could splice each phrase and turn it around to fit their agenda. I am convinced with no doubt that the media is the biggest obstacle for Trump because they will take a word or a phrase out of context and run it for hours each day. They are so dishonest. But the problem is this is a very ignorant electorate. Most American voters have no idea what they are voting for. They just vote for the person making the most promises to grease their palms.
If Trump wins this thing it will be because he was able to wake up the masses and make them realize what kind of country they will be subject to for the rest of their life. I only have a short time left but I do have grandchildren who will suffer and be subject to a nation I would not have dreamed of when I was their age. VOTE TRUMP

VOTE TRUMP I have also watched TRUMP speeches at various campaign stops since the convention. almost every time the media CREATES a false narrative with a warped and distorted analysis of what he actually said. The distortions are blatant attempts to promote a negative image for the ignorant sheeple masses who live off 15 second sound bites. TRUMP is the ENEMY of lifer politicians of all parties, ENEMY of the media, ENEMY of illegals, ENEMY of criminals and ENEMY of free loader nations dependent on the USA for defense, and ENEMY of free trade partners who prevent USA goods shipped to their countries. TRUMP is the ENEMY of the "establishment" on a global basis. TRUMP is a friend of the USA and the people willing to be productive, honest, law abiding CITIZENS who assimilate and accept the constitution. A vote for anyone but TRUMP is worse than those who enabled and defended the teflonturd. rr

..still plenty o' time for Trump to turn himself around...no, I don't want him to turn politically correct to appease the pussies out there, but to just not give the liberal press/tv any morsels to go crazy about....Trump could be so easily in the driver's seat, but just gotta let some stuff go until after the debates and elections..

I also have been watching Trump events in total on foxnews.com live feed, unfiltered by liar commentators, no spin, just Mr. Trump interacting with his supporters. He is terrific in every event I have watched, and some of those events have been the same events that the liar press and Clinton Crime Family have used to shift the public conversation away from Crooked Hillary.
These tactics are disgraceful, at least to any good, honest thinking person, but these tactics have defined the liberal/progressives and their trained attack dog press for too many years. It would not matter who the republican candidate is, these tactics would be used daily, just as you see now being used against Mr. Trump. It also does not matter what Mr. Trump really says, how much humor he is employing, or whether the language is in the vernacular of the common man, these dishonest brokers of power will do all they can to twist and misrepresent the message to advance their ends.
Buckle up everyone, this is only beginning, and it will get much uglier before it is over. My advice, ignore all the noise and remain focused on the goal. Talk quietly to your friends and family. Talk quietly to your associates about why Crooked, Liar Clinton, and her Crime family must be defeated, and why Donald Trump is the man of the moment for this nation's future.
