No its not funny but its not a plot or a nefarious plan its worse because china is always secretive. Our countries house is in order concerning this. Some people are trying to create fear for pure political reasons that is irresponsible and imo lacks moral code Good thing Pence in on the Job leading this charge. With all his medical and scientific background hes just thr man for this. Who needs a head of CDC or even Surgeon General, or even top infectious diseases scientist. We get Pence. The VP who has done the equivalent of a stick in sand for 3 years. That position is simply a coordinator, docs and those folks don't always make good coordinators, he ain't going to make medical recommendations. He was fairly successful in Indiana with their medical system. Damn people are making more of this then it is the things are in place to minimize the effect. 1 case of non china contact found in northern California. supposedly somewhere in new your had 87 cases but when asked had no confirmed cases...go figure, folks need to stop spreading panic its irresponsible and very political |

The truth,
1. CDC funds have not been decreased under trump but increased - attention has been paid to what the money is spent on
2. An advisory panel was put in place by Trump the first of January when the issue (or more correctly) the issue manifested itself as a problem
3. Top people have been engaged in government and private sectors from the first of January to begin looking for a viable treatment
4. Restriction of people from countries was issued early. Trump was called racists for doing the prudent thing.
5. Most of the know cases or potential infections/carriers are in California at the Military base mostly from the cruise ship
6. The new case in California is not likely from an unknow source, that being said there were people from HSA or one of the gubmint agencies that met them without proper precautions (red or blue opinion they were idiots) however no indications yet that that has resulted in rampant spread in this country.
7. CDC is revising recommendations concerning isolation.
8. May be somewhat different today but 60 or so people definitely have the virus 15 manifested active systems, most are going home or will go within a week. One is still in the hospital but reports are he/she is improving.
9. Private firms are rapidly developing solutions and may be ready for human trials shortly. A firm in Israel is also close to trials.
10. The presidents team and president are providing data and help to China and other countries. Data is free flowing
11. While Potus was making sure everything was in place, the house decided to freeze the senate with the impeachment. Nothing...I mean nothing got done on any front in January, no mention of the virus nothing. Potus did his job Congress decided to play patrician hate politics and date rosy palm and her five sisters
God willing this thing will not become epidemic in this country nor pandemic for the world. We have the tools in place to limit this and to help the world as we always do.
Democrats are weaponizing the issue lying about facts while pontificating on doing or should have done things the president and the CDC etc. implemented very early on. Meantime we hear very little that while this thing has been going on in this country 150 to 200 folks have died of the flu. There is no perspective on this just political advantage and hate.
Despite all the talk about urgency to fund, congress hasn't even got a bill going to do so.
I'll repeat what I have said before, we need to fire everyone in frikking congress and start over. They do not love or care for the people or immigrants in this country they are power hungry period.
Meantime the markets panic due to supply chain issues, of course that's Potus's fault too.
In the end the economic ramifications will cause more issues here due to issues in China, South Korea, and elsewhere. We will recover quickly from that.
From a public health point there is no reason to panic and politicians are trying to make that panic happen. We need simply to take reasonable precautions, wash your hands, cover your mouth and nose when coughing, don't go to work sick, if you are older make sure you get a flu shot, get a pneumonia shot, and on a side note if you had chicken pox get the two shingles shots. As I understand the virus for older folks anyway, pneumonia is one of the thing the virus promotes that can prove deadly. This is prudent stuff, cheap and we should do it anyway
