I watched the entire scrimmage. Here are my observations;
*Oscar has some help inside this season
*Oscar Does NOT need to shoot many threes
*Toppin is improved in all areas--but not a knock down 3P shooter--huge upgrade from blmbrooks
*Collins looks dramatically improved--more assertive on both ends
*Reeves is as good or better than TyTy and/or Grady
*Wallace and Livingston are gown men already---huge improvement over blmbrooks and replace TyTy
*Thiero is a pleasant surprise, court aware and good size, plays the game
The bad
*Frederick only took 1 shot, a missed 3, but played fine otherwise--played 12 minutes, least of all
*Ware is active, still a poor finisher at the rim--plays HARD, a banger, improved
*****wheeler was just awful, still cannot hit a shot, out of control, continues wild

Everybody sees it except cal. Whatever deal they made for him to come here needs to be broken for the sake of the team and the goal of a natty! It's fine to be fast unless you constantly outrun your teammates. Last years team was a natty contender when he was hurt and tyty was at the point. After tyty got hurt team went into the crapper....Wheeler not good enough to pull us out so we stunk up the big dance. |

He’ll play himself out of a starting job. For a first exhibition game, these kids looked pretty good. I hope they do well but still have bile in my mouth from CCC. |

Collins impressed me the most . Not for his dunks which were insane but the way he is so fluid an in control. Toppin will be a big help n I love his help gsme on both ends.
Wallace is a glove and is best defensive player we have had in a long time. Livingston can do everything.
I got it as
Wallace, Reeves, Livingston, Collins, Oscar. With Wheeler, Toppin, thiero, and Fredrick (if he's ready health wise) to round out team after Jan.
Thos is a final 4 team if Wheelers mi use are li.ited to 10-15. If Wheeler is getting 30 a gsme then this team will under produce.

Looks to me like Wheeler is definitely the weak link. Not to say he can't have a positive impact on the team, just not as a starting 25+ minutes guy. Give him about 15 minutes as the reserve and that would be nice.
Not a fan of Oscar taking many 3's. Sometimes the shoe just doesn't fit.
I still think we are at least one talented guard short. With that said, I am a fan of the small ball (obviously Cal isn't) lineup. Maybe Wallace, Fredrick, Reeves, Livingston, and Oscar.
Would provide good spacing for shooters and play makers as well as open up the middle for Oscar. Then let Collins and Toppin run wild together without a center. Both those guys are 6'10" and can touch
the top of the back board. Go get an F'ing rebound! Oscar is great but he doesn't need 35+ minutes per game. And we definitely don't need another 6 to 7 man rotation that Cal is fascinated with.
I like the energy from Thiero, but I think he will hit a wall at some point. Likely when Cal takes control and plays conservatively.
As always, Cal and a lack of guard depth will be the teams down fall. When Cal slows the pace way down, shooting percentage will grind down with it.

This team legit looks like 14/15. 10 or 11 deep with Kingley. 5 players can shoot it well in Wallace, Reeves, Fredrick, Toppin, and Livingston. Collins an Thiero can also shoot it. The defense is fierce as is the rebounding, length and athlectism.
I can't imagine a team better than us this year

After watching the Bahamas games, my main take away is let Donut continue to set up in the stands and let Chin and Antigua coach the team and we should be fine.

My observations of world and American events leads me to believe there is a chance this season will be derailed.
The powers that soon "WONT BE" will not like watching all their hopes and dreams of the NWO go down the drain, like they are going to do (We're Winning)....so, what will they have left in the chamber, a blank? Or...?
They went with a bio weapon before the last election cycle....Tic Tic Tic

Well Cal has made final 4s here with less talent so I believe we make the next 2 final 4s with our teams. As long as we aren't married to Wheeler gettibg 30 min a game I love our chances of a final 4 or better. We're a legit 11 deep n can run platoons again. Cal was never a great bench coach an his success is built around how he's able to put teams together . This is the best team he's had since 15. Yes the last 2 years have been horrific as a fan but let's not pretend Cal is just a terrible coach when he's not. He's had a HOF career but some serious stinkers namely the last 2 years that have alienated fans. Cal needs a big season to save his legacy. You don't have the career he's had if you suck -that said if he can't get it done with this team he drove his career off a cliff. |

begok will resort to his 7 player rotation and ignore others. That is the begok way. and losers never change their ways.
Oscar--Toppin--Collins--Livingston--Wheeler--Reeves--Wallace------These are the 7 begok played in the final bahama game---when he pretended to coach!!
Frederick will get minutes, but begok will claim the injury keeps him back, and playing time will be limited.
Thiero, Onyenso, Ware get mop up minutes
In the end, another season short of a ncaaT final four, and more excuses from begok.
