It is official.
Crod is cleared to return against Ole Miss.
He makes Kentucky a nightmare to match up with.
Plus he is one the top 2 or 3 pass blocking backs in football.

Stoops is coaching with a Boulder on his shoulder an so are players playing like it. Thanks Cal We might have a chance at UGA if it's at home. Not so much Bama as Bamas got the best players by a mile and a coach that could literally tell Bear to hold his beer. I can say this team is even better thsn last year and definitely a contender ifcthey play like this.

Georgia is better on both sides of the ball than last year, and last year they were National Champs.
UK beating georgia football this year is a pipe dream. Georgia is far better than bama.

When UGA comes to Lexington they better bring it. If they not on there A gsme n we are..... it's anyone's game. If UGA is on it then yeah the difference in talent is too great.
Just wish Stoops wpuld open the offense more but he does well with the smash mouth ...... I just don't think he can turn that last corner till he opens the offense up but that comes with risk so I understand him not.

Since we are dreaming about Fat Calbert winning another natty at UK, why not expound on the pipedream of UK football beating the Florida Gators 2 in a row....Oh Wait.
Why not dream big? Georgia is near the end of the season. The key for UK is to beat both Mississippi schools and UT. Then, if they manage that, then we can talk about how it cant be done.
Lets just hope when the shit hits the fan after November into January, that we still have sports.
Our biggest Championship Wont be sports related in my opinion.

...i'm a well known laugher of UK football....raised that way, just the way it is..........posters still want to say they are better this year over last year after 2 games.....we all want to see that, but, Streets, are you tryin' to count your chickens before they are hatched?....puttin' the horse before the cart?.......again, not tryin' to rain on your "better than last year" parade......

Going forward, I'm mostly going to just see what I see and only what I see. Then I will question what I see. lol But the one thing that makes me say DAAAAAAAMMMMM, is UK beating Florida 3 outta 5 and 2/3 at the Swamp. That's a paradigm shift. Draining the swamp is happening in more ways than 1.

The biggest difference in Stoops at UK and everybody else is that he has built a program not just a gimmick. He is doing what Bear Bryant was trying to do before he was escorted out of town.

The Kentucky Football program is the best it has been since the Bear.
Are we really a top 10 program? I would like to say yes, but common sense says not likely.
Are a top 25 Football team? Yes, and I think Stoops has done a hell of a job getting us to that level.
The truth is Stoops has made Kentucky respectable in the best Football conference in the US.
IMO, that is the ceiling on how good Kentucky can be.
The recruiting base for Football is just not good enough to consistently hang with Bama, Georgia, LSU, Auburn, A&M , Ohio State, Penn State,Oklahoma,Notre Dame and the other perineal contenders.
That being said, I really enjoy Kentucky football a lot.
Like my friend Riley, I grew up on the Tennessee State Line and had to put up with them loud mouth Volunteer Bastards for years.
We could not say much because hell for 30 years that beat horse shit out of us every year so guys like me and Riley learned to let it ride and then laugh our ass off when we whipped the piss out of them in basketball.
I grew up about 55 miles from the UT campus and I got my Masters Degree in Engineering from UT so I know that shithole well.
I was lucky enough to be both a PhD student and a professor at UT in the early and mid nineties when Pitino put some absolute dog stomping on UT.
I was in attendance the afternoon we beat them by 48 in Knoxville.
Us Kentucky boys raised mortal hell that day in the stands, up and down the strip in every UT campus bar.
The thing I remember most about that game was Steve Hammer a 7-2 slow as hell center trying to guard Antoine Walker. Kevin O'Neil was a hard nosed ass hole and insisted his kids play man. I bet Walker dunked the ball a half dozen times in a four minute period that Pitino played Walker in the high post. Hammer would come out and pick Antoin up 16 feet from the goal, he would pump fake and drive right down the lane for a circus dunk. The game was over 8 minutes into the game with UK ahead something like 36 to 6. Pitino hated O'Neil with a passion. He actually hated UT with a passion. He hung a 66 point win over soap opera Wade Houston once.
Good times.

Back to Football, I really enjoy Stoops style of play. He would get run out of the big football school towns but he is the perfect coach for Kentucky.
No one could do a better job at Kentucky than Stoops and Stoops is not capable of making as much money, making fans as happy or win as often as he can at Kentucky.
He is the apitomy of what a good coach in a rural basketball state should be.
He for the most part recruits 3 star players which means he gets kids with the potential to work themselves into SEC caliber players.
Stoops gets in the weight room , feeds them good and nobody teaches football fundamentals better than Kentucky.
This years team is blessed with more speed than normal and I think they may have a real star at QB. The boy can flat throw the ball and he is big even for the NFL.
Stoops has become pretty good at putting big stronger than hell linemen on the field. They may not have NFL speed but they put people on their ass.
Stoops likes long 8 to 10 minute drives that net at least a field goal and on defense nobody tackles more fundamentally sound than KY. He makes teams earn every damn yard.
Kentucky is a 100% ball control smash mouth football team.
Against good teams he just wants to keep it close, make no mistakes and be down by 2 with the ball and about 4 minutes on the clock. He will plow 3 yards at a time into field goal range and beat your ass.
That is who Stoops is and the kind of team we have. Tough as nails, smash mouth, intelligent, fundamentally sound and competitive.
I think RR is right about the dogs, it would be a major upset if the Cats beat Georgia. On any given Saturday when you you play Stoops style successfully enough to keep it close, anything can happen, but it would be the upset of the year.
I think that it would be a f%@!ing tremendous year, perhaps the best ever if Kentucky beat every one but Georgia and landed a Sugar Bowl birth.
It is unlikely but very possible. At Ole Miss and UT on the road, UK will be a 3 point underdog, but they are capable of beating both teams if they play their style, don't turn the ball over and don't give up big plays.
Every other team on the schedule is likely a dog against UK.
I kind of have a feeling that the winner of the UT game will take second in the east and earn the Sugar Bowl game.
IMO UT is the game of the year for UK.

I enjoy football so much more than basketball, that's it's not close. It's nice to be a factor in every game we play. I don't sense that anymore with Calbert's teams.
Even in 2015 with probably the greatest team ever assembled we found a way to look bad in getting bounced.
Barnfart better get this shit right.

last 3 drives down 3 we get into FG range and twice TD range -- turn it over 3 times. IN close..... 1 time was an illegal hit and 1 time arm hit a split second before an easy score ( after a stupid penalty takes 7 off board). Maybe the come back took alot out of the guys I don't know ... likely a combo of being tired n bad luck. Maybe most frustrating UK football game I have watched.
