You guys remember the movie "The Hunt for Red October" where the US guy is asking the Russian guy....did you lose ANOTHER submarine? This is unfortunately the US military - they're going door to door ..."Um, you guys wouldn't happen to have seen this big jet thingy flying around your neighborhood, have you?" How friggen' embarrassing is this - the Russians and the ChiComs are laughing their a$$es off at us right now.

Back in the day, we used to have F-4's in Turkey. No one was dumb enough to try it on the ones with nukes, but there were also a lot of planes in back up areas. When it got cold, windy or rainy at night, some of the guys on guard duty would be tempted to climb in the cockpit to get out of the weather. I had a buddy that tried that. I don't know if he was playing pilot or hit something by accident, but he ejected himself. He lived but was basically a vegetable afterwards.
