On the players
MKG - the leader on and off the court - has the Kobe/MJ mentality and his offense is really coming along with his shut down defense. a definite top 5-10 pick
AD - His offense is coming along rapidly - he has a nice shooting motion all he needs is to knock some 3;s down and he's ungaurdable. He is already the best big man presence i the league changing shots , as well as the best shot blocker - now a good FT shooter and getting a nice mid range game as well. Te future #1 overall pick.
Miller - as always hot n cold -- He will have games when he is hitting everything and games when he hides except it and move on.
Teague - Really starting to learn how to play point but needs to to be more aggressive gettign to the hoop not just to shoot but to kick.
TJ - Startig to come around but a little overwhelmed by the talent of MKG and AD
Lamb - started strong and should break out fo his slump soon
Wiltjer needs to continue to gain confidence to be able to giove 10-15 minutes a game.
Only 2 teams scare me a little in March and thats UNC and OSU as both have inside outside. Maybe Uconn noone else can beat us ona neutral court.
UNC - We have no answer for Zeller as AD isn't big enough to really gaurd him 1-1 without help leaving a shooter open - that said UNC isn't a great 3 point shooting team.
OSU - agains we would need to double as Sully is too big and strong for AD to gaurd 1-1 and unlike UNC OSU has shooters
Right now the team finds ways to win
we have shooters in Lamb , MKG , Miller , and Teague is gettign better as well as Wiltjer and if AD gets it going him too all can hit 3's
Inside we have TJ , AD , and MKG
rebonding -- MKG is a beast and AD will get any jump ball rebound - we need TJ to get better here and we have 3
defense -- MKG will always gaurds the other teams best player - AD in the middle turns teams into having to shoot jumpers or get it blocked or altered inside
Winning it all takes uck but we do have the the best talented team
If the best teams play for the title its UK - OSU
as for the NBA
AD will go #1 MKG - some place in the lotttery Teague - 50/50 he returns Lamb - 50/50 he returns TJ - he should return but won't a top 25 pick right now Miller - graduated Wiltjer back
Next year we would have a better team that this year if Lamb and Teague return an we add Shabazz

Streeter, great breakdown and I agree. You basically nailed everything I have worried about or thought. Well done. Agree with not wanting to face OSU or UNC, but I would add:
Cuse - They are good/that zone UCONN - just don't wanna face them again Baylor - They are good dUKe - refs
Only wanna see those teams in the final four.
PVO!!!!!!!!

I agree with a lot here but I feel UK gets better and wins it all or they don't. No need to pick the team. UNC lost by 33 today. UK lost once by 1. Syracuse and Baylor are undefeated. Concern, Concern. UK does it or not. For UK to win it all would mean better chance for players to leave. Who goes Pro? Of course Davis and MKG! Lamb more likely than not. I once thought Teague. I've lost that feeling. Miller and Vargus graduate. I still feel Teague is the player to watch here. I don't know how long Davis and MKG can clean up his messes. Teagues numbers go up with a National Championship. Shabazz isn't walking through that door yet. I sure hope so. UK isn't top 5 or 10 without him.

Syracuse is the one team i do not want to face, they go 10 deep and anyone who thinks we would be able score consistently vs their zone is lying to themselves. Particularly, if we were to play them in a national title game where would have less than 48 hours to prepare for the zone.
In my opinion, for UK to be playing for the national title on April 2nd, someone out of the group of (Teague,Lamb,Jones) will have to elevate their game to another level.
I also believe that we will get at-least 1 returning player out of this group (MKG, LAMB, TEAGUE, JONES) for next year, not sure who.
Enjoy the ride!

i can't see mkg being placed in the group of possible returnees....that seems a tad optimistic I know, considering he seems like a lock to go into the top 5, but i do believe if this UK team were to fall short this year, MKG would want to return to make another run at the title. With that said Calipari will not allow it.

Since the draft is not till June it's all speculation. If it were right now, MKG, Davis and Jones are lottery picks. Teague and lamb are not even in the picture as first rounders.
Miller might get drafted in the 2nd round, but I wouldn't bet on it.
Hopefully Teague and Lamb play well enough the rest of the season that they do have a choice to make.
Then maybe they will also look at how much trouble Knight is having in the NBA and think even harder about coming back.

Baylor is a team I dont want to play. They are long, tall, fast and physical..This is a game that Miller and Lamb would not fare well in..Miller always seems to disappear when the game gets physical..He plays scared.
We will get a little dose of Baylor when we play Miss St..That game will be a war.Terrence Jones needs to step it up a notch or his draft stock will not be where he thinks it should be at the end of the season. Terrence is not very strong going to the basket or working around the basket..Gets way too many shots blocked and they are blocked from down around his waist..He plays too soft too often...Should be a fun ride from here on out.

Especially considering the whole team is him and defense concentrate on him. He is starting to make noise about the team's commitment to winning. He may get his wish and get traded out of there? Knight is just stuggling really bad. The speed of the NBA is gonna be realy hard for him to deal with. No real training camp has hurt all the rookies. Kyrie Irving hasn't looked good at all.
