I guarantee our women could beat 12 year old boys. A good 12 year old AAU team....I'd bet on the AAU team.

UConn or Baylor's women couldn't win the Ky. Boy's Sweet 16,let alone UK's team. bingo.....just once I would love to see one of these "supposed" great women's hoops teams go against the Kentucky Boys High School State Champion....they would lose plain and simple...this shit about women being able to compete with the men on the court is a myth perpetuated by the media....

I dont know man, you start underestimating women, you get burnt. Yes, they cant compete with their male counterparts, but 12 year olds? I would like to see that. I didn't say they were all 12 years old. I just pointed out that her son was one of the ones they used in practice. And I have no idea what his actually age was at the time. I just remember when ESPN did a piece on UT women's team they interviewed him and asked him what it was like going up against the players at such a young age. I just remember he was a kid.

The PC police in the media would hate to have their lie about woman's athletics exposed like that...never happen. I believe some high school pulled a stunt at a prep rally that had the boys vs woman's team play for like 10 minutes. The boys put up a ridiculous amount of points and the women barley scored. I forgot where it was but remember it because my dumbass liberal English teacher at UK used it for a rant about how unfair it was to judge women's sports.

My daughter played on a junior high team that was unbeaten. They normally beat all the local teams by 60-10 or something like that. They had to travel all the way to Jackson Tn to find someone who could even give them a halfway decent game, and it was an easy win. They played the boys team from their jr high in a practice game. The boys team was slightly above average for jr high boys, but they beat the crap out of the girls.

In 1982 UK females won the SEC b'ball touyrnament, and in 1983 were ranked #4 in the nation.
Valerie Still led that team. Patty jo Hedges and Lea Wise were also on both teams.
THAT was the BEST UK women's team in history. The 1982 team made the elite 8 in the ncaa tournament.

The UK women made the Elite 8 last year and are 2 games up on UT with a win over UT for the league title this year. This year they hope to go further. I just think it would help them to go against male players in practice. We have already determined male players would roll em, so why not take advantage of that in practice? My daughter's coach did that once. I didn't ask her why. Maybe it was to humble them a little or show them things they could work on a little. I'm 50-50 on it. The pysche of the team could be effected negatively. I don't know. I guess it could depend on the team.

The pysche of the team could be effected negatively. I don't know. I guess it could depend on the team. The psychology of the situation could be worked on ahead of time. A good psychologist could teach the girls role reversal...meaning, what is happening to you is what you are going to learn to dish out. Day in and day out they could get beaten, then practice against themselves...back and forth. At some point that testosterone beatings they get accoustomed to will click and they too will see little things they can do to fight back in kind versus other women. You would then see that other coaches would bitch and say its unfair that they practice against men...You get the drift....I feel CERTAIN, with proper psycological guidence and a daily dose of this practice will turn a good womens team into a much better one. Over time with psychology and balance, I think they become more dangerous and agressive. Just my take but that is how I would coach womens basketball. I woulda thought you'd have started by teaching them to shower properly.

There was a local girl in my town who was a real girls high school superstar. Was being recruited by Tennessee, and all the other big schools. I don't remember where she ended up. But anyway, when we were both in high school, I went over to her house one day and played her some 1-on-1 in her driveway. She was small, weak, average quickness, shot from her chin... Long story short, it was a joke. She could shoot the ball, if I chose to let her. It was not that much different than playing a little kid. I took it easy on her, so as not to be a jerk, but I made sure never to let her win just in case she was going to tell someone she beat me. I mean, this was a really serious high school recruit, and it was like playing a kid. Made me realize that girls basketball is barely even the same game as men's. It has as about as much busines being discussed on this men's basketball board as football, volleyball, rifle, swimming, etc. When the women win the national championship, like the rifle team or the cheerleading team, let us know. Until then, I think it should get as much talk as the rifle team. Actually, it should get less, because the rifle team is actually a championship team that has won something.

I played in a league in Evansville about 20 years ago and it was an open league because it was run by the companies. There was only one girl that played and she was a local Evansville Bosse star that played her college ball at Pepperdine. She about 6'3" and about 250 lbs. She wasn't that tough to defend since she couldn't jump but about 4 inches, but she was tough as nails. Sh took it as an insult if you played her like a girl and she would knock the the hell out of you on box outs. Gave me a new appreciation as to just how rough those girls can be if they want.

Good LAWD. How many 6'3/250 girls are there in college basketball right now? That's a frickin gigantic chick. The 6'3 part isn't too odd, but 250?!? Either way, I'm guessing Terrence Jones could handle her. ;D
