Shabazz has to know that Cal would make him play D and he don't do that very well. Let him rot on the west coast next year and we'll hang #9 in spite of his 25 a game. He probably knows he wouldn't get that here anyway. Jones and MKG and Davis could have scored 25 a night and we'd still be waiting for our 8th championship. Exactly, bazz didn't want to play D first for the team...he wants to score...

Maybe we dodged a bullet here guys. Kid had some baggage. I can't recall a player where the NCAA told the schools recruiting him there might be issues. I think we did dodge a bullet. Just think he could screw up chemistry by wanting to shoot all the shots. On the other hand, cal wanted him, so he mightve been ok. I'm just taking it as a blessing in disguise.

Remember how Austin Rivers was ranked #2 last year like Shabazz is #2 this year? Where is Rivers now?
Poythress is going to be a beast at UK. I thought he looked like the best player on the court at the McDonalds game. No exaggerating.

Let UCLA worry about the NCAA. Not saying anything will happen but glad we don't have to worry about that.

I think rivers is a good example And we saw what that did for dUKe. A first round loss to a 15 seed. Let's see if Howland can even get his team into the tournament before I'll predict a first round loss for them ;D

Pac-12 is garbage so they will probably win it, but they will go home after the first weekend.

Bazz made a mistake with UCLA. I can guarantee that Kyle Anderson is going to be a bust at point, if he even gets a chance to play the point. He is one of the slowest players I have ever witnessed. Of course he is perfect for Howland's offense as he is a plow horse. He was the reason that the international team won the hoop summit. He couldn't get back fast enough to stop the fast break.
And he completely crippled our team on the fast break. The best way to discuss Anderson is that he is Kyle Wiltjer without an outside shot or post moves. I wouldn't want Wiltjer as our point, and I definitely wouldn't want Anderson running our offense.
Can you tell that I think that Anderson is way over rated? He is. UCLA's class is over rated because of KA. Time will prove me correct.

Shabazz is a talented player, but Poythress is great in his own right, and much more of an unselfish team player. And I wouldn't trade Nerlens Noel for Shabazz. We got the best of the two, and will probably add Anthony Bennett, and Oriaki, or Amille Jefferson. Cal is not done, we will be loaded for the upcoming season #th_thumbup#

Mohammand is not the team player for UK. Coach Cal said that not every one is good for UK. The players we got are team players. I think one of three stay at UK, MKG, Lamb or Teague. We get the UCONN transfer and Bennett and we will be set. Number 9 coming up.

All, there really is not need to justify Shabazz not coming to UK, if he put on the UK cap then it would be OMG we are no. 1 again, Cal will take care of his "selfishness", he'll be a team player, NCAA is full of crap UK has vetted him. we don't need that horse manure. He chose UCLA, he chose the PAC 10 or 12 or whatever, he chose to stay near Las Vegas, more then likely influenced by addidas...so be it. If he does well and has chosen well he'll be gone in a year, if he doesn't go in a year there will be reasons either way, given UK history under Cal we make EE next year (in the toughest matchup) good chance at an FF and possible repeat. We'll have another couple of kids go to the NBA and continue. Howland may not be at UCLA if he doesn't produce next year and its quite possible given all the crap happening in the program sanctions will be given (i'm ot betting on that too much Wooden from the grave influence).
Would he have been better off at UK? Probably. Would UK have been somwhat better? Probably as we have a Coach that knows how to handle these kids and egos. He made a decision not one we necessairily like or think is best. Doesn't matter.
I for one wish him well in his year in LA, he'll get his 25 per, he may or may not win the PAC whatever, He may or may not get n the NCAA. He may end up playing UK in the tournament, either way, he won't go to a FF unless the committee decides to let them play the lighthoulse of the blind and sisters of the poor. Bazz in the end succumbed to parental pressure, addidas pressure. It happens.
I'm happy with our class, Cal's happy I'm sure and we already are priming the chamber for the next class.
We'll be in the hunt again come October-April and I frikkin' can't wait for October 15th. I'll even enjoy UK football winning a couple of games agaist the 8th grade champions from the church leagues before the real pride of the commonwealth shows up.

I seriously hope we have one player returning, because scan our roster and tell me you dont see a problem (assuming nobody returns from last year that played a lot) For shits and giggles, I scanned our roster...assuming we get none of the top 6 back. Here is what I see. PG - Ryan Harrow - lightning quick point guard with one year practicing with the team. could be better than Teague SG - Archie Goodwin - good scorer. can get to the rim and finish SF - Alex Poythress - smooth offensive player that can shoot with range and plays defense. PF - Kyle Wiltjer - deadly perimeter shooter with size. needs to work on his footwork and get stronger C - Nerlens Noel - impact player offensively and defensively. has ridiculous talent Bench - Willie Cauley Roster isn't as good as last year...but isn't a slouch either. If we add Bennett and/or Oriakhi, we will have a stout front line. I like Goodwin and Poythress on the wings attacking the rim. This is EE or FF talent. With Cal's ability to mold these kids into a cohesive unit and get them playing to 100% ability, we have a shot at #9. What more can you ask for?

This roster doesn't have to be better than last year's. It has to be better than the competition. NO roster in the country was better than UK's 2012 NC team. There may not be one like it for many years to come. But this new team, man, we've got some players. It's gonna be fun to watch them develop. I wouldn't rule out a surprise returner from the 2012 team. And there is a chance Jon Hood will be a meaningful contributor. Evene if that doesn't play out, we've got a super team, and Cal continues his incredible run of recruiting the best of the best. PVO 2012-2013!!

OK we have 2 guards of note. One gets two early fouls......or perhaps both, we go Beckham and Polson....Not what Calipari wants, I'm sure. I think we should just cancel the season then.

I think we should just cancel the season then. Illogical.......... with our track record of getting recruits, we simply recruit another guard. Then shut the f%@! up with your goddamn whining and crying!!
