I typically don't get a lot of inside info but I did get a solid tip. My ex brother-in-law has a close friend that works for the NCAA. A few years ago when I saw him a lot I got good info from him, I had a heads up about 6 months before the big bust at IU and told several people it was coming while they laughed and said yeah right.
Anyway I ran into him over Easter weekend and we were talking recruiting. He was telling me that Bazz would be insane to go to UCLA with what is coming down the pipe and he thought surely the kid knows and will not go there.
The Sports Illustrated article made the NCAA look stupid, which they take personally as we all know. The NCAA has very silently began digging, ala the IU matter, and before the season is over they will get their asses hammered. Also Bazz may or may not be eligible and they will have to forfeit games he plays in.
Take it for what you think its worth, but I never heard bad info from this guy even once.

Interesting, thanks for the info. I hope it happens and UCLA continues to suck for another decade or more.

Sounds like a train wreck waiting to happen. There's no wrath like an NCAA scorned...I also wonder what one would find if they really dug into the Adidas connection??? #th_thinking#

Was he saying IU will get busted before this season is over?? That would make me one happy individual. I have heard their mouths vomit crap every since the last second shot.

If the NCAA would have been consistent over the past many years, UCLA would have a few of them 11 titles revoked as well.

Some people think that Coach Cal is the best recruiter of all time. He may be but he does have at least a close equal for sure.
One Mr. Sam Gilbert. Gilbert was the bag man at UCLA the entire time Wooden was there. Gilbert got the players and Wooden tried looking like he was the greatest thing since sliced bread. Truth is before Gilbert, Wooden was a middle of the road coach. He got his ass handled to him regularly in the 50s into the early 60s.
As Yogi says, you can go look it up.

About IU I was just talking about the Kelvin Sampson deal a few years ago.
The Adidas thing is getting a lot of attention lately though, it just adds more fuel to the fire I would think.
I'm also still convinced that UCLA was behind the Chris Mills/ Emory deal. No doubt in my mind. Screw those bastards.

Shabazz-Adidas-UCLA connection heating up. "Why would a player said to be NBA-ready pick a team that missed the NCAA tournament twice in the last three years, the skeptics wondered. Did the family's ties to Adidas play a role in Muhammad's choosing a program affiliated with the shoe company? Cynics pointed out that Muhammad's sister, Asia, a professional tennis player, has a contract with Adidas, which also sponsors Shabazz's club team, Dream Vision. "Adidas, um I mean UCLA, wins the Shabazz Muhammad Sweepstakes," wrote CBSSports.com's Jeff Goodman. "Shabazz stayed loyal to adidas entire way." www.latimes.com/sports/la-sp-0413-ucla-shabazz-buzz-20120413,0,7793041.story

I was never really impressed with Bazz. Not really concerned that we didn't get him. I wanted because Cal wanted him, but that's it. The one I really wanted us to get was Noel.
I would have been really disappointed if we had missed on him. He is a bad, bad man! As is Poythress. Goodwin is also gonna surprise people.
This is gonna be a great team next year. Can't wait!!

I hear you jd. Before the commitments I thought if we get Bazz then good, if we don't we aren't hurt but we NEED Noel.
Poythress is just over in Clarksville but I was too busy/lazy to go watch him any. Did you go down to see any games?

I wanted Noel much more than I wanted Bazz. It would have been great to have a clean Bazz to, but UK might be much better off without him. He can score 25 points a game and UCLA go nowhere. If the NCAA hammers UCLA, so what? Cal needs to get 2 of these last 4 players left and win it all again anyway.
