No it sucks for you. I've been watching basketball all day and it's great. Second best time of the year after March Madness. Can't wait to watch it all day tomorrow too.

Playing a full 40 game season was rough on me. My voice is just getting back to normal along with my sleep schedule, I could use a couple months of rest before I would be ready for the season to begin

My DVR revs up the smell or the Championship game at last once a day, it doesn't get old, especially the last couple of minutes of each, fun stuff that is!
Lots of good youtube stuff too! #th_ThumbsUpSmiley#

Awaiting NEW faces and another UK season of greatness. UK basketball never ends--it just keeps on going!!
too bad a total pessimist can never find anything positive--no matter how GREAT the outcome.
sadly pathetic.
maybe reggis and windcatpearlsmoker need company "occupying" time for teflonturd. They never tire of their love affair with teflonturd.

#th_angrybig# I dont know about you guys, but the season being over sucks. It couldn't have ended any better, but not having basketball until October/November bites. Thank god for storage auctions. I know you don't like baseball anymore, but this is one aspect where I am lucky. I watch all sports, but I am only a real honest-to-God fan of two teams - the Cats and the Braves. And if those happen to be the two sports you follow, they merge into each other almost exactly. Seriously, the NCAA championship is almost exactly on opening day of the baseball season, and then the World Series ends almost exactly on the day that Kentucky plays their first Blue/White game and exhibition games. I think that is kind of neat.

No "Kentucky" basketball is what I meant....I dont care for the NBA. If the NBA was all that was on TV, I would turn the TV off. I just have less than zero interest in that stuff. I miss "UK" basketball. Sorry I misunderstood. I just enjoy basketball, college and pros more than any other sports. I watch baseball, NFL, and hockey but don't really follow any of the teams. I just love sports.

I'll have to go with Kman on this one. The only sport I care about any more is college basketball. Never been a football fan. Never cared for it, never will. I stopped caring about baseball back in the mid 80's during one of their strikes. Haven't watched it since. I watched a little NBA back in the Magic/Bird years, but it never really got me excited.
During the UK basketball season, I wake up every morning looking for some news to read about our team. I scour the web for any tidbit. Now, I have to survive on our recruiting news and with Jefferson and Bennett, it is making it pretty scarce. I get a little bit of recruiting news for the 2013 class, but once again, this doesn't fill my day.
Also, I love the water cooler talk about basketball. Now everyone is talking football draft and baseball. I just nod. Not interesting to me. They might as well be talking about women sports.

I don't care for fooseball and the business aspect has soured me on pro sports, so I don't watch much besides UK hoops. Time is also a factor, so I have to ration my available sports time. Conversations with Chop and Riley have rekindled my baseball interest a little, but UK basketball is far and away the king.

Baseball is like watching Dean Smiths 4-corners. So is football.

Baseball is more than just sitting there waiting for a pitcher to throw a ball...
-any players on base and if so, which one?.. -whose batting and can he pull the ball to left or does he go to the opposite field?..that's comes into play on where the baserunner is currently at... =is the runner going to steal a base? -whose on deck and what's his basic hitting stats?...who's after him? -how good do the outfielders throw into the bases or homeplate? -what pitch on a 2-2 count will the pitcher throw to their best hitter with a man on 3rd? or scoring position on 2nd? all bases open? maybe just walk him to get to a week 5th hitting player next? -what's the pitcher gonna throw to the 8th hitter to get him out should the top of the lineup come up in a 1 score ballgame in the 8th inning? does the club have a good bullpen? time to take the starting pitcher out or the middle inning reliever out to put in your closer? -is it raining? what's the surface out in the outfield? -will the runner on first take off on a 2 out full count in the first inning?
Baseball is a game much, much more than just waiting for a pitcher to throw... I like to get into a game on tv and see if I guessed what pitch the pitcher will throw next and see if I'm right or wrong...guess whether a batter will swing next or etc...
To me, espeically in the playoffs, every single pitch counts....if I had a choice, of course I'd take watching a UK basketball game...but secondly, you just can't beat a good baseball game for anticipation!..........

I think baseball has hurt itself with certain decisions/non decisions over the years, but baseball was at it's peak in a quieter day when people didn't expect a constant fix of excitement. Way back when almost every decent sized town had it's own minor league team. Some players even passed on playing MLB because as the hometown hero they could male more money at home. Locally Mayfield, Fulton, Union City, and Paducah had their own minor leauge teams. Paducah had a team till the early fifties. Brooks Stadium (in Paducah) has been refurbished and is still in use. The OVC usually has their conference tournie there. I've played a lot of games there and it's a beautiful old stadium.

I agree with you. Baseball is an analytical game. To appreciate it, you have to really know what you are watching. Otherwise, it is a snoozefest, like Katman says. It doesn't surprise me that NFL football has become by far the most dominant sport in this country because we are a country of people whose taste in everything else sucks - music, movies, food, politicians - so why not sports. We have a 2 second attention span and would prefer to just see two people smash into each other rather than examine the pitch sequences a pitcher attacks hitters with as he goes through the lineup a first, second, and third time. I know I am more into the statistical/probability side of the game and the sabermetrics stuff than you are, but whether you are or not, there is just so much about baseball to be studied and disected and enjoyed. It is a complex game, with many probabilities and decisions to be made and analyzed, with every batter. I guess I am a dork, but it is a super appealing game to me personally. If you tune into a baseball game to see how far someone can crush a home run or because you want to see someone slam into a wall, don't waste your time.

Kman, You do know a slider is a baseball pitch, kind of sharper breaking mini curve.
