Just curious if anyone here has a machine that can take a recording on your DVR and burn it to a DVD...
Or just any way to record a television program on to a DVD in good quality?

I have been doing this for like the past 5 years -- so I would say yes - just depends on how tech savvy you are

Capturing with a computer, or just a DVD recorder that can pull from a DVR box, or what? My goal is to avoid using VHS tapes at any point in the process, just for the sake of quality.

People like us mere humanoids are like ants to him If you own a DVD play/Recorder -- simply when you go to bed play a movie from your DVR on your TV and hit record on the DVD R/W. Is that rocket science? If your asking how to record something you have on DVR it's pretty easy as most DVD players are r/w -- or just plug you PC into you TV assuming it's a modern TV and do it that way. Unless I am mis understanding your question.

No, I just wasn't sure if it was that simple. I guess obviously if I have the DVD recorder between the DVR and the TV, then the signal which is headed to the tv from the DirecTV DVR box, which is passing through the DVD burner, is the one that will get recorded, no different than if it was a VCR.
I was just being lazy and asked the question before thinking about it. Plus, if anyone had a recorder, I was just gonna ask if they'd hook me up with a DVD if I paid for it, so I wouldn't have to buy the whole recorder myself. But if it is really as easy as that, I guess I could just buy it and get plenty of use out of it.
Thanks for the advice. I am stoopid sometimes.
