Richie, I don't know if you are around Lexington, but you can go to Gumbo Ya Ya and get them to make you up a bunch of Yatwich meat and either serve it on the special Yatwich buns they have, OR just get the meat and use it as a chip dip with yellow tortilla chips. It is a pulled turkey meaty spread/dip with an awesome taste of creole spices, garlic, and other flavors. It is awesome dude, and there is nothing else like it. Now, you do run the risk of it being kind of a "love it or hate it" type of thing, but sometimes you just gotta serve great shit and let the imbeciles hate it and stand by your food choice with conviction! I am serious. And the folks who love it, which will be most guys, will ask you about it for years.
I love it so much, and since the Gumbo Ya Ya over there off Harrodsburg Rd is the only one on earth and I can't get it in WV, I actually get them to box up gallons of frozen Yatwich meat and buns and ship them to me in a styrofoam container packed with ice packs in the mail. Or if I know I will be going through there I will place an order and pick it up on the way. But it is that great and addictive. Gumbo Ya Ya has a website if you wanna google it and find out more.
Should also have some New Orleans brewed Abita Turbodog beer to go with the creole Yatwich, which you can find easily at a liquor barn or some similar place.

You guys like seafood you should head up to Jungle Jim's. Have the best selection of fresh sea food around. Makes Kroger look like a bitch. yea Liar I remember when jungle jims was a little one room place, that sold milk and bread, I lived across from there in the late 70's and 80's in Camelot east. I still go there a lot now. Fairfield is a nice place and jungle jims is a great place to shop, anything u want. There is a new one in Eastgate that is bigger and to me nicer. Plus the drive isn't as bad. It's a day for me though. Every time I go I have a list of what I want then spend 4+ hours shopping and buying stuff I see not on my list.

No, I live in Cincy but I make it down there several times a year. Will check it out sometime. I have had abita beer. Not sure if it was that one but I have had abita before.

Does anyone but me like chicken livers? I love em, Famous recipe has great chicken livers, and tea. I put them on a hook, then toss them into the river.

I like to fry salmon in a little olive oil. I use the California blend seasoning (found at Kroger). Put that on both sides and throw it in a hot skillet. I like yellow saffron rice and grilled asparagus as sides. Bush's baked beans are a good side also.

I put them on a hook, then toss them into the river. Oh ok each his own, I like to fry em up and toss em down. I used to eat fried chicken livers when I was a kid & loved them. Haven't had them since then. I do like beef liver & onions. Have that a couple times a year. The green derby in Newport has great liver & onions.

I love Jungle Jim's in Eastgate...It is about a 20 minute drive from place here in KY....just get on 275 east and head across the river...
We have been using HP Brown sauce for dipping beef and chicken in...a big British thing...they use malt vinegar in the mix...I really like it better than A-1 which used to be one of my favorites...HP has dethroned it...lol

Bacon is like pussy, the worst I've ever had was still good.
