The old man on a fishing trip last week caught a focking big ass Blue fin Tuna. He said it was Blue fin I haven't seen it yet so he may be exaggerating a bit. i told him why the the hell didn't you just try an sell it - you can get like 5 grand or something for those things. Anyway he caught it had it chopped up and packed in ice and Brought it back. He stopped by the house (I live a few miles from O'Hare) and unloaded half of it in my basement freezer. My Entire 2md freezer (pretty big) is basically packed with Tuna. Thinking about taking it to a sushi place and trying to sell it - have no clue what to do with it other than t throw it on the grill. Any home chefs here with Idea's

Yeah, season it, cook it, and then shove it up your ass.

I never could figure out why one tuna can cost thousands when I can go to kroger and buy a can of it for 99 cents.
Hell, once a week we feed our cats tuna as a treat.

Sear both sides in some light butter. Season with salt and pepper...maybe a touch of lemon.
Nothing better than tuna on ciabatta roll with a aoli of your choice.
BTW, a sushi house isn't going to take your tuna. It has to be handled a certain way for sushi grade.

Streeter whatever you do just don't over cook it. Even the best marinade or seasoning will be ruined by overcooking it.
That's my biggest fear when I see Tuna on the menu at a place that isn't a high end steak house.

It was a big hit at my 4th of july BBQ

I've always enjoyed food that was over cooked. Also, when I was young (and still today) I do my best to make cakes being baked in the oven to fall...overcooking meat and fallen cakes...I'm all in.... It probably is why I like beef or deer jerky.
