Some friends and I are having a big party in a couple weeks. We are planning on 200-300 people coming out (have had close to 500). Anyway, we will be making 30 gallons of chilli with deer burger. We'll add hot dogs to the chilli later in the night for chiili dogs. We are smoking 100 lbs of chicken, and have 300 lbs of potato's for home made french fries. Oh and we are also roasting a hog. Its not really for game day but made me think of this forum. It should be a lot of fun getting everything ready and cooking it.

If you want to spice things up, put ghost pepper extract in the chili. Yeah, I love food stories. It sounds like you are going to have a great time.

Yea that's just the food part. We are going to have a softball game around noon. We are having a horse shoe tournament later that afternoon. There will be an auction that night. And we are also having a band come in to play live music in the evening. It should be a great day. Hopefully the weather works out.

Holy hell, where does this party happen? It takes place at a small farm in Watertown Ohio, called Heiss Hollow. One of my best friends grandpa built it back in 1973. It is a few acres of unused land in between two hay fields. It is a low area which has a creek running through it. It was built for the sole purpose to have BIG parties. It has two pavilions, one which is used as the outdoor kitchen with running water. It is set up to cook anything. Also includes a flat top grill and a deep fryer. The other pavilion is a little bigger and has a walk in cooler attached. There is a stage there as well for bands to perform. There is a stone fire place under the pavilion for when the weather turns colder. There's a big fire ring for people to stand around also. It has two bathrooms with running water. It has a softball field and a tractor pulling area. It is a pretty popular place in the area. It attracts people old and young, near and far. We usually have at least 3 big parties a year. It gets used a good bit though, as they rent it out for reunions and weddings and such. It is always a lot of fun. I absolutely love when we have parties. Its a perfect set up for a lot of people. Besides, who doesn't like a big outdoor party? Its always free for everyone to come in, just BYOB and don't start any trouble. My friends grandpa likes to come down and watch the parties because he likes to see everyone have a good time. That's why he built it. We have had some decent bands in there. David Ball and recently the Davisson Brothers, who are a really good up and coming band out of WV. My friend has his own DJ equipment so the music is always good, and plenty loud for a big area.

Who pays for all the food, band, etc? ps- this is really cool. I want to come. We usually have a group of about 15 people who help pay/prepare everything. It works out pretty nice because it is a lot of work getting everything ready. Its also nice having that many people help clean up the next day.
