A friend of mine has a daughter that plays soccer for a DIII college in Ohio. They went to watch the game, and the entire visiting teams girls took a knee during the National Anthem. If that would have been me, I would have left the game. They were all white girls. They probably don't even know why they were kneeling.

I respect their (or others) right to protest, however it would also be my right to never purchase another ticket or memorabilia from that team/institution and do so in such manner that the people selling such items knew why.

You are right. People have the right to do just about whatever they want in this country (which is great). But, that doesn't mean it isn't always not ignorant.

There's a lot of stupid people in this world.

I have to be honest. I served in the U.S. military and I did not serve my country for some malcontent to make $100,000,000 and trash our country and our flag. So I am not one of those who fought for the right of someone to be an idiot and disrespect the blood that was shed in the name of the United States. When I wore the uniform at no time did I think, "man I sure am glad I can be away from home and family so some knucklehead can protest and make a fool out of himself" No I was doing my duty and serving my country for other reasons, duty and honor. And my buddies who did not make it home were fighting for their life and wanted to live, and did not die willingly for the right of a pro athlete to raise their fist or turn their back on the flag. Let's get real.

If the Anthem really means that much, why is it only time played before sporting events? When else will you hear it? I don't get the correlation between sporting events and patriotism.
