I can't see Trump winning any debate with a seasoned o politician. But he needs to at least not lose badly and NOT go batshit like he did in the primaries. ..... that played there it will badly hurt him this time if he goes full on mud slinger.
Trump some how some way has gotten back in it. If he can win or tie this debate Then he looks really good going forward and is in tbe lead likely in the polls. It's basically even at the polls right now.

Trump will come out of this debate on top for two reasons, he is not the bumpkin that so many people seem to paint him, and Hillary will be on the defensive all night. She cannot handle the tough questions that she has conveniently avoided because of her seclusion from the press and a press that does not want to confront her about her corruption, lying ways, and all the baggage that defines a Clinton.
As for the polls, Trump is dead even in the national polls, but when state by state polling is examined, he leads in blue states Nevada, Iowa, and has pulled nearly even in Pennsylvania, Colorado, New Hampshire, Michigan, and Wisconsin. He leads in Ohio, North Carolina, Arizona, Georgia, and is in a dead heat, with the momentum in Florida.
I have been looking forward to this first debate for months. Tonight, Crooked Hillary will be exposed to the nation in a way that no Clinton has had to endure. Republicans, for some reason, have feared the Clintons and never confronted them as they deserved. Trump is not in that mold.

Hes not getting s draw at this rate. Damn he seems desperate , flustered, and just seems out of his depth .............. CRINGE WORTHY. All trump needed to do was look Presidential and not get crazy - wouldn't matter what he sais as Long as he didn't go nuts and his numbers would still rise. Is he upset his numbers are up and is trying to throw this

As cringe as Trump was. He still won or tied that debate. Best moment for trump was NOT hitting the lob and bringing up Bills infidelity that won him points. But he had do many times to go after her on the emails and held back.
Favorite part was ....... when he said u spent hundreds of millions I spent nothing yet and we're tied.
Don't get me wrong ...... I am not a Republican nor a Democrat ..... and I am far from a Trump supporter but I truly detest Hilary.

My prediction about Hillary questions was correct. She was not questioned on her lies etc. Trump failed to advance the ball with the emails and he failed to point out lies to congress voters about emails and bengazhi. He was actually too nice I expect that will change going forward.. I agree with you Streeter he showed smart control not going after silly bill and his numerous just milk escapades.
I just hope that the dumbass public realizes Hillary will scam them and get rich while taking our freedom with her scotus appointees at least trump is honest enough to admit he maximizes his bid nests within the law.
Btw I could care less about his taxes it ain't important if I could get away with it within the law I wouldn't pay income tax neither would anyone on this board.
Hillary wants a 1.2 trillion increase think about that and her definition of rich will cascade down to include anyone with a job. The country would never see a positive effect from the gross taxes

For those of us familiar with Hillary's career we knew she would be scripted and would dig in attempt to get Trump to explode. She did follow the script but to Trump's credit he did not explode. I think his goal in the debate was to look cool and calm while being attacked and he was successful in that regard. However, he left a lot of softballs hanging in the air. The one I know he regrets was on the topic of cyberspace crimes. This was his golden opportunity to look at Hillary and ask her how she could fight cyberspace crime when she committed the worst cyberspace crime in internet history. She allowed U.S. secrets to be left unguarded and acted in a criminal way that would land most of us in prison for about 25 years or longer. That alone disqualifies her from being president. Maybe he can correct that in the next two debates.
Bottom line, he came out OK for the night and considering this was his first ever one on one political debate and Hillary has about 40 under her belt he did GREAT. So I give the nod to Trump.

Trump won overall especially on the economy and security issues, but Clinton out "gotcha'd" him, which is disappointing to me, but not shocking.
Trump's surge in the polls will not be stopped. This morning, a new poll in Minnesota shows Trump over Clinton by 1 point, a really shocking development for any Democrat candidate, Pennsylvania, Michigan, Wisconsin and Colorado are in play. Nevada and Iowa, Obama States in 2012, will be in Trump's column. Finally, CNN reported yesterday that Clinton is conceding Ohio and pulling out of that State with her campaign.
The Clinton campaign is falling.
My hope is that Trump takes the gloves off in the next 2 debates and hits her repeatedly on the Clinton scandals, corruption, email-gate, the criminalization of the Justice Department, the Iran Treason, the Iran Ransom, and Clinton's lyin' ways.

old lester did his very best to represent the establishment--and had no issue making it obvious.
People realize how dirty and orchestrated the entire debate system has become--and it appears working people have "HAD ENOUGH"!!
Time to take back this Republic from the elitists and the media and the politicians.

I like a no moderator format for debate 3, just a time keeper. 9 ten minute segments on pre-selected topics, formulated by the selected moderator, Wallace, and the two of them go at it, 2 minutes each, for 2 rounds the first for laying out basic positions and the second for rebuttal of opponent's position, and 1 minute each for final statement on the topic. I say give them the topics ahead of time, and then get out of the way. The time keeper simply regulates who is on the clock and when time has expired. The only rules would be to honor the clock and no interrupting the other while on the clock. Have a great big (read HUGE) clock in clear view of the two candidates, the audience, the timekeeper, and on the TV screen. Any time time overages are automatically deducted from that candidates next time allotment.
My topics:
1 War on Terror 2 National Defense 3 Border Security 4 Urban Renewal 5 US Infrastructure 6 Domestic Economy and Tax Policy 7 International Trade 8 Education Reform 9 Why Americans Should Vote for ME!!
The endless back biting about Trumps Tax Returns, Hillary's lying ways and corruption, etc. will not sway any remaining voters but these policy issues will because the differences between Clinton and Trump on these visceral issues facing the nation.
