The easy part is I eat 4 jalepino peppers everyday with my 2 meals of primarily vegetables and Jasmine rice. I do excercises daily, primarily hourly jumping jacks and and hand weights.
For my inbetween meal, I drink protein shakes mixed with banannas. The vanilla flavor makes it taste like a vanilla shake, yet it's almost absent from sugar, sugar being the thing I avoid like the plague. I bought dozens of cases of Arizona ice tea in the cans with less than 1 gram of sugar each.
With all this, I went from 204 pounds down to 168. I now easily maintain my weight between 168 and 170 pounds.
The key to enjoying the rice meals is the low sugar Marinara sauce that ties the peppers and rice and beans together. It tastes wonderful. I bought a few hundred dollars of San Marzano maranara sauce and use it daily. Just thought I would share.
For protein (aside from the shakes) I eat red beans and very lean beef in small portions mixed in with the marinara, rice, bean, and pepper meals. I enjoy food more now, and I feel 20 years younger. An amazing turnaround as I had all but let go of myself after I lost my daughter and mom and stepmom.
Now I have talked the wife into retiring at years end and I will have a business partner. My 4th quarter of life is the dream life I had envisioned for us. Just an amazing thing.
NONE of this would have been possible without god. I prayed for intervention after all the deaths in my family and I got the strength within, due to Him.
Praise the lord.
All is possible with your faith.

Thank you catman, you are an inspiration. I will take note and will be happy with results half of what you achieved. My hat is off to you. The beauty of the food changes I had to make is the fact that giving up the junk that I was eating, is now replaced by food that I ended up liking MORE that is much healthier. The peppers add the zing to all my meals. I was told peppers reduce chloesterol. Got the blood tested at Lab Corp and the number changes after 3 months were amazing. My doctor cancelled my appointment and told me to come back 3 months later. The hourly jumping jacks have built up the muscles in my legs which made me go more mobile and got me doing more. Now when I hit the auctions, I feel much more able to tackle things. Now I'm getting my wife involved more and have even convinced her that retirement is the BEGINNING, not the end. As I stated before, all my life changes came from prayer to our lord and savior who instilled in me strength that I had to have.

Bless you catman. I have a whole garden full of jalapenos and banana peppers. Eat a couple every day and so glad they help control cholesterol. I am encouraged by your weight loss and improved lifestyle. Thanks again

Thankyou. If I could say just two things to help my fellow DDers is that, your diet can be incredibly good and healthy at the same time, and your faith in HIM will bring you joy and give you strength if you allow yourself to have it.
I've seen a total reversal in the prognosis of my health that I can directly attibute to my faith.
I've been able to totally cut out some really wicked medications. I doubt whole heartily that I was able to do this alone.
God bless.

Diet still going well. Food tastes great.
My top weight was 204 and I'm now staying at 165 and have been a good long while now.
I've gotten off of one of my blood pressure meds as well.
Eventually....NO MEDS at all.

I had a very similar experience. I'm 56 years old. In 2015 my weight was 243 and I'm 5'9". I basically cut sugar from my diet...30g a day or less. I only drink water, tea, coffee, almond milk and protein shakes. I watch bread and potatoes but eat them everyday. I still eat basically everything I want other than sweets, ( and I still eat them a couple of times a week )just smaller portions and usually no seconds. I walk 4-6 miles 4 to 5 days a week and work out 6 days a week. I started in Jan 2015 and by Dec 2015 I weighed 170. I have since put on 10 lbs intentionally because at 170 I looked too thin. I went from busting out of 40's in the waist to 32's and from busting out of xl shirts to medium. I am now basically my college size and feel great. Anyone can do this if you need to and you will be amazed when you get the sugar out of you system how your appetite will drop. I would be happy to go more in depth if anyone wants to know more. Just shoot me a message. Oh and a biggie I forgot Is DO NOT USE artificial sweetners period they are actually worse than sugar when trying to lose weight.

Sugar is a toxin to the body in more than small amounts in my opinion.
Besides giving up sugar, I have given up salt to a large degree.
I've also given up flouride and now use a flouride free toothpaste.
I now have the greatest meals with Jasmine "BROWN" rice and chicken or turkey with a very low sugar marinara sauce...always with 3 or 4 jalepino peppers. I also add other vegetables to change up. I also eat plenty of beans and corn, bananas, mangos and plums/apples...ect...A little "natural" sugar does not seem to hurt me.
I've never enjoyed food as much as I do now.
Being that the wife and I are now both retired, we find joy in buying storage units every week and get a bunch of exercize doing it as well as planned exercizes I do every hour I am not busy.
On another note: I had a guy one time tell me that he liked his job. I said to him "that's great" but if you like your job it means you are not working. I have always believed that if you enjoy doing something it certainly is NOT work. Work is what people do when they dont like it or enjoy it.
