I have full support for private sector workers who join unions, pay their dues and accept the judgement of those elected to be in charge. If you want to be in a union, jump right in.
Dues and fees should be directed to the political direction of the payer. Openly state dem, repub or independent--and funding should be directed accordingly.
As to public sector unions--NO WAY should taxpayers fund unions in gubment. teachers, firemen, military, police, social workers--and all the rest--NO UNIONS.
That is my take--have at it!!

I mostly agree with that. I never doubted you would not!! thanks rr rr, I had mad respect for you. Always have. I know you post a lot of stuff just as click bait. And it's fun most of the time. I'm a very conservative democrat. Especially fiscally. Most of us here would get along very well discussing politics in person. That's why I've mostly stayed away from political posting on the internet. People tend to post in extremes. There were about 3 or 4 posters here that would not get along in a social setting. Only one is still posting. I try to avoid him now but he is obsessed with me. So it makes it hard to ignore. But I'll try to do better.

That is my take--have at it!! rr I can agree with part of this. My argument for unions was always with the Trade unions in mind - but as you state those are Private unions not public. There is no tradesman that would work non union if they could work Union. Teachers need all the help they can get as that is maybe the most criminally underpaid occupations (talking K thru 12) and yet one of the most important Jobs in the country. There is a reason why The USA has the best universities in the world but the K-thru 12 is an embarrassment an borders on third world level. I would agree a lot has to do with too much government involvement in education but the Money paid to be a teacher ............... what is the motivation for the intelligent skilled people of the country to become a teacher an make 45K a year which these days is not much at all. Your standard government employees I agree in regards to Unions there. Police and firemen maybe I disagree with you.. As for political donations at least for Trade unions they MUST be voluntary I can agree there too ------ but at least with the trade unions they are voluntary,
