....I have no problem with LEGAL immigrants getting assistance as long as they ain't sending money back home and pay taxes like we are...
....it's the ILLEGAL immigrants here that I don't like receiving assistance from the taxpayers just so liberals can garner their votes....
...the illegals have it better than a very large percentage of Americans...and it's being done just for the vote...

Like many he got a fake ssn n fake credentials. He pays taxes on his check. No idea about what or if he does anything tax time. The old time illegals work on fake papers... it's very common. |

Apply for citizenship--go through the procedure--PAY the price so many others have to pay---$$$thousands to get the permits and achieve true CITIZENSHIP!!
Time to end the "excuses" and treat everyone the same--EQUALITY under the law!!

My nephew recently married a gal from Bosnia - she's a lawyer (and a Muslim, fwiw). It took over a year of paperwork and lots of money for her to even get a visa to come here and marry. Now that they're married, she has to wait 6 moths before she can get a job, which seems counter intuitive.
I certainly understand how most immigrants would struggle to accomplish what they did, especially those who are uneducated and poor. Much easier to sneak in illegally and take your chances. That said, it SHOULD be difficult to immigrate to the USA. It SHOULD require an uncommon commitment, including naturalization. The rewards are beyond meaningful to improving the standard of living for the immigrant, and more importantly, their future generations.
The processes for immigration need to be improve; but we must not make it too easy, and we should be selective and thorough in who we allow to come aboard.

I have a very good friend who married a lady from Brazil. She got a green card(worked for a Brazilian airline when they got married), and it took several years and about $4,000 in lawyer fees to achieve citizenship.
Do it the right way--or stay the HELL out!!
Sob stories be damned. LEGAL is LEGAL.

I might be ok with giving someone who has been living here illegally a path to citizenship (and they must become citizens) if the path was a more difficult, the people had paid all taxes, had a good job, along with good sponsors, they don't start the process and show progress in three months, one warning and then deport cause its obvious they don't want to become citizens just benefit from our society

I know hes been here for like 30 years and I think most or all the kids are citizens and all of the males served - 2 in the afgan war. My point is all illegals are not the same. If you have been here for a long time and are an upstanding member of your community you should not be made to leave. Preventing future illegals crossing or those with any sort of violent crime record then absolutley they should get booted. But booting someone like him would just be stupid. |
