Very interesting the coaches seem to be excited about every player except bricklayer Wheeler who wilted like a petunia in the ncaa tournament. Hopefully one of the other players will emerge to take over the point whether it's Reeves or Wallace because it will be highly unlikely to win a national championship with a midget point guard who is turnover prone and can't shoot but continues to do so.

Biggest concern for me was the comments about Frederick---can't expect too much, still "recovering" from time off, etc. He IS a huge part of what has been missing for several seasons==back to LAMB and the 2012 title team. Monk was solid, but not as consistent.

...Wheeler, IMHO, is quick, and pretty fair defender, and can hit a shot here and there....(remember the north carolina game in Dec)....i kinda feel sorry for him cause he has to bring the ball down the court to an offense with a piss poor coach that has no offenseive teaching skills...kinda got to know offense to teach it.....hey, JMO, prove me wrong, cal!.........

Fat Calbert would have shelved Jeff Sheppard in 1998 I believe.

I hope I'm wrong and that he has improved drastically but I can't get the picture out of my mind in that disaster of a game against St. Pete where Wheeler basically killed us in the last 2 minutes with turnovers and missing ft's which barely hit iron. He basically choked and I'm extremely doubtful that has changed when it comes down to crunch time.

And the other guards better be ready to step into the PG spot. Wheeler is going to have a bunch of head hunter screens coming his way again this season. Other teams will try to take him out.
