They seem to contain a very high amount of Rip Van Winkles (sleeping, unaware, disinterested people) to events that will ultimately decide our fate as a species.
Without specifics, I can ascertain that sports are like sleeping pills to ones discernment as it gives one a total focus on an aspect that is for entertainment only, while ignoring things that very well could cost them their lives or lively hoods.
Opinions?

"Sports shows" and games and events SHOULD be about SPORTS!! not politics--not "important issues"--not solving world problems.
SPORTS was once a means to be removed from the problems, issues, worries of the day--a short interlude/escape from the daily demands we all have to confront.
People NEED a moment to relax, enjoy, and sometimes participate in activities that are AWAY from all that causes anxiety, turmoil, fear and agony.
SPORTS were once a joyful outlet---now all the talking heads and participants believe THEY know what is best and have all the answers.
JUST shut up and "play the games".

Opinions? ..let them get a little age on themselves, bills to pay, children's clothes, food, and etc, mortgages and the such, then possibly they'll gain some knowledge...but alas, even when some get older, they stay ignorant.....................

It blows my mind that people buy into narratives so easily. Lacking discernment.
RR stated above what sports were about. I love his response, but like everything else, this dark cabal has been involved with, like the sign on Uk's practice court saying "Black Lives Matter".....NO SHIT motherf%@!er.......When you agree and say "ALL LIVES MATTER" they want to crush your face.
This ideology is being rejected all over the globe and the sports world is doing ZIP ZILCH NOTHING on this matter but watch as healthy athletes drop all over the globe and drs drop after 4 magic jabs.
How can this continue unabated....my answer..IT WONT, but the shock and awe of reality will send some of these sheep over the edge.
Im done until this is cleared up.

People have always looked at sports as a distraction away from everyday things. The problem is that life's problems have gotten to serious.

I'll echo you and rr, katman - I used to watch sports to decompress from the rigors of the day/week and to forget about the world's problems for just a little while. Then, the sports figures decided they were as smart as all of the Hollywood set and needed to share their stupid and ignorant viewpoints with the rest of us. I am paying to watch you put a ball through a hoop, carry it across the goal line or hit it out of the ballpark. I don't give two diddly sqauts about your politics. But then, you took my money and all the other people paying good money to watch you, and decided we needed to be belittled and called racist, etc. at the friggen' game. Outside the game, blather all you want - I can ignore that. Once you brought it to the ball park though, the whole reason I watched sports was eliminated. Thus, I now have a LOT more free time to pursue other interests. I've found I don't really miss wasting all that time watching these overpaid "stars" lecture me on my beliefs and politics. Maybe enough will wake up and walk away like many of us here. If not, at least I have been able to keep my personal integrity. It's kind of a shame as this year it looks like Kneels is putting together a pretty good AAU team. I also genuinely like Oscar - he seems to be a great player and an even better person. I wish him well. Maybe someday sports will return to a pastime without all the political commentary, but I'm not holding my breath on that.
