I'm not surprised by the results of that survey, I think most people who follow college basketball and certainly coaches understand there are few in their profession that do less with more than Donut.

The other coaches would love to have the talent Triple C has wasted at UK to only have one NC.
He will ruin current team by seasons end.

begok will take this 11 player roster and pare it down to his 7 player rotation--then whine when/if someone gets hurt and no replacement is ready to fill the void--
Oscar, Wheeler, Toppin, Collins, Wallace, Livingston, Reeves----these are the begok "chosen"
Frederick, Ware, Thiero, Onyenso will get mop up minutes and get to "splinter on the bench"
begok has no idea how to utilize good shot makers and a long bench---too much work required to develop all players. NO zone--No press--No new real in bounds play---no changes---just same old loser begok.

Of the 4 I think UK and Houston are the best two.
UNC played well in March last year, but I had seats on the floor in Vegas when UK beat Carolina in a bloody pulp and one thing stood out very clearly "Walcott could not guard Oscar". Oscar made the boy his bitch. I don't see anything changing in that matchup.
Actually, I think Kentucky went out and picked up three players that were better than anyone UK had at their position last year.
Reeves >>>Grady 4 inches taller, quicker, better athlete, better ball handler shoots the ball as well.
Livingston is >>>>>>>>>>>>>Brooks, no comparison. Livingston is a far better player than Brooks as is Toppin.
Wallace is >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>Wheeler, again no comparison. Barring injury Wallace is a top 5 pick, he is 6-3, 215 athletic as hell, brutishly strong, great defender, great ball handler and playmaker.
Frederick if healthy provides a dimension Ky has rarely had. Lamb, Murry, Monk, Booker, Quickly were good shooters but I don't think either is as pure from 3 as Frederick although they were likely better overall players. Frederick is good enough to eliminate zone defenses and few teams are going to enjoy running with this Kentucky team.
Gonzaga, is a never a top 20 team after the beginning of conference play. They are very well coached, so they always look good before New Year's day. As other team's jell, the athletic dimension becomes a huge disadvantage to Gonzaga as does their schedule. Their schedule has them playing low to mid major teams for 2 1/2 months, they they are flung into the tournament to face the shock of high D-1 athleticism which they have not faced in the new year. That is too much of a shock to over come for 6 straight games. Gonzaga would be well served to move to either the Pacific Coast Conference or the Big * (where Kansas, Baylor, Texas and West Virginia). In those conferences, they would not win as many games, but they would face high D-1 athleticism in every game. They would also recruit better athletes because kids know that at Gonzaga, their NBA potential is not developed as it would be in the major conferences. Houston is loaded. I have been talking about them ad nauseum over the past month because they are that f%@!ing good this season. Plus, Sampson is 10 times better as a bench coach than Cal. Sampson's teams take on his in your face, kick your ass, personality. They play with bone crushing physicality, superb defense, dominant rebounding and patient tempo controlling offense with the best shot selection in the country other than perhaps Virginia (they are a more athletic version of Virginia). When Houston has a top 10 offensively skilled player as they do this season, they become extremely hard to beat because their stud offensive player will shoot over 50% of the teams shots and pound the offensive glass. Sampson likes a physical, chippy game played in the low 50's. Sampson's game style is the style UK matches up with worse than any other style. UK has more talent than Houston, but they will struggle mightily against the Cougars, I hope someone knocks Houston Off (they struggle against teams built around speed and outside shooting like most of the really good mid major colleges are built), hopefully a dark horse will beat them before we face them.
I hate to say it, but Kansas is loaded this season as well. I would sure as hell hate for them to win two in a row.
Baylor, Duke, Villanova, Arkansas, Tennessee and UCLA make up the second tier that are good enough to get hot and win the tourney but on paper are a slight notch below UK, Kansas, Houston and UNC in overall talent.
Arkansas has been eliminated in the elite 8 two years in a row. I hate to say it, but they have slowly built themselves into a top flight program again. They are loaded and Muscleman can coach.
This is an up year in college basketball with two times as many good teams as we have become accustomed to seeing. I think the best 4 rosters from top to bottom are clearly UK, Houston, UNC and Kansas, but if you look at the top 6 players on the roster (most good teams go no deeper than 8) any of the teams on list above have the talent to win the tourney.
It should be entertaining. Does Cal finally come out with lady luck on his side like K did a couple of times over a 5 year period towards the end of his career?

Same here Riley - don't see Donut being able to outcoach teams over any stretch. I guess it could be like Tubby's first year where the team basically won the title in spite on him. That could happen if Oscar becomes the on-floor coach and they basically ignore whatever "scheme" Donut tries to run. Maybe they can simply out-talent their way to a title. In any case, I'll be an interested observer without watching a single minute. Donut burned me out and I'm not coming back until he leaves.
