It sounded like your buddy said he had not heard of a 32 cal. It was a popular police gun as late as the early forties. Charles Bronson used a 32 Colt in the Death Wish series and I think Humphrey Bogart used it in at least one movie. I ran across a deal on an H@R 32 several years ago, but when my daughter started traveling a lot on her job, I took her to a shooting range and gave it to her. She is a better shot than me. ☺

I inherited one of those from my uncle. Like you Katman - wouldn't see it for $300 - good little insurance gun.

I will be the first to admit I don't practice enough. As active military, keeping the shooting range open and available was one of my duties at Tan My. Free shooting range, free weapon and free ammo, yet no one ever used the range. Studies show in officer involved shots fired situations, the officers normally only hit 30 to 35% of the time. You have the stress of the situation, maybe being shot at, a moving target and did the officer really want to shoot someone factoring in. In one study an officer fired 23 times without a hit. Sorry, I meant to quote a Katman post.
