Maybe, I don't know if we would have got that bad without it though. I have a 73 year old customer (the one who built his own full court basketball facility) that always talks about how life would be without some of the things modern life has brought. Before all the chain stores came about, there were numerous mom and pop furniture stores. Many jobbers used to take big trucks and peddle their wares to these mom and pop places. There is only one left and it is him. He travels Indiana, Illinois, Ohio and parts of KY and Michigan. At one time, he serviced 800 stores. i dont know how many are left. He goes in and sets up the displays for the stores. They don't have to touch anything. |

Life has become easier for the gubment to CONTROL.
The more diverse we live, the farther apart we live, the more difficult to garner support for taking away rights and freedoms.
As groups learn to seek more freebies, the more gubment cedes to those with funds for campaigns and self promotion.
today--nothing is outside the gubment data base. Every phone call, every text, every email, every communication is logged and available for retrieval. Every car and tv is a means to retrieve info--we are always under the spying EVIL eyes of gubment.
The greatest days in this country were right after the Korean war(about 1953) till the assassination of kennedy(1963). Freedom, safety, care free and caring--families, communities and children being children.

The internet is saving out butts right now. The internet has linked us up to the whole world. Without the internet, the only news that anyone would get is CNN fake corporate news.
That would mean no chance for Trump to become President.
Now Free Speech has exploded onto the scene with X and Truth Social and Hundreds of Thousands of Independent news channels. Just like the first Amendment of the Constitution gives us knowing we would need it. Freedom Of The Press. WE ARE ALL PRESS!!.
