Was suspect at best until the last two seasons….I’m not saying he isn’t a good coach but there is nothing on his resume that said he was going back to back….my point is Pope deserves a chance.. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dan_Hurley

Like most, I had bigger names at the top of my list, but I fully expect Mark to do well here. 100% behind him.

At first when I heard Barney was going after Hurley I was excited that he might come here but after thinking about it I'm glad the deal fell through because the only reason he even entertained the idea of coming to UK was money. I would much rather knock Hurley and UConvicts off their perch than buy them off. We got our coach, one of our own which MP may end up being every bit as good or better.

I don't doubt Hurley's coaching skill, but he seems like a real douche-bag. I'm much happier knowing we have a UK guy at the helm who wants to be here for the opportunity and not just for the money. My personal opinion (which isn't worth a whole lot) is we are much better off in the long run with Mark than we would have ever been with Hurley. I'm excited and pleased how things have worked out so far.
