Our problems are we have a very stubborn freshman PG that will not let the game come to him.
A prima Donna Forward that does not play to his abilities, and a senior that still lacks aggressivness.
Calipari has his hands full with this team. 3 players are where the bulk of the issues are.

Completely agree. MKG and AD both let the game come to them and don't demand the ball. And yet they are the 2 stars on this team and the only 2 we can count on game in and game out. I think Jones is jealous that he is not getting the attention that the 2 star freshmen are garnering.

Lately, Miller has become so passive on both ends of the court and on the glass that you almost can't play him. Can't have him on the court. His man gets every rebound. Doesn't defend. Stands and watches loose balls. Doesn't attack the rim. Course, with him, he may snap out of it at any given moment and play like he's all-conference. So Darius, make it sooner rather than later, if it's all the same to you. Thanks.
Jones is inconsistent but showing a good effort lately, imo. We need more from him. I won't blame him today though, because the refs called a foul on him if his jersey brushed up against anyone else.

Our spacing is horrible in the half court...many pointed that out in the game chat today. That kills our ability to penetrate and dish...it also doesn't let our bigs pass out of doubleteams effectively.

this is the most talented bunch cal has had since he has been here. it is also HIS WORST TEAM. no guard play, unless teague improves leaps and bounds, it wouldnt suprise me to see this team lose in or before the sweet sixteen.

Teague is coming around. Two of those charge calls against him today were total bullshit.
Nothing wrong with Jones. He had 10 points, 5 rebounds, 3 block and I think 2 steals while being called for a foul every time he looked in the direction of a UT player.
Lamb has learned passiveness from Miller. We now have Disappearing Darius and Disappearing Doron.
The real problem with our offense is what people have already mentioned, spacing. I said something about that a couple of weeks ago. That spacing problem is because we have 3 players, Davis, Jones and MKG, all trying to play the same position.
Davis needs to accept that he is a 5. He is doing better at that. He should also be forbidden from taking a shot more than 5 ft from the basket.
The role is gonna have to be defined between Jones and MKG as to which one is the 3 and which one is the 4. That falls on Cal.
This was a poorly coached game by Cal. Poor offensive planning. Poor defensive scheme planning for the beginning of the game. he did change things up at halftime. Call keeps saying they don't watch much film. Maybe they should start?
I hate this stall ball that we are playing now. That can't be on the players. You know they want to get out there and go. Cal did this crap last year, but last year it was for good reason. We had to play that way to maximize that team's skill set.
Maybe he is just experimenting?

17-1 / 3-0 Come on fellas, take a step back and enjoy it. Its not perfect but put a little perspective on things, there are some issues but at least we have talent where we can fix some things and be great. Enjoy it for once!

JD I respect your basketball IQ as much ans anyone on the board. What is the answer to our anemic offense? My opinion is that we need to let them play. cal seems to be wanting to play the "grinder" style that he turned to with last year's team. The bigeest thing is the spacing. We are making ourselves too easy to guard by not spreading out the defense. None of our guys can be guarded one on one. They can get help when three guys stand in a five foot circle. Cal will figure it out. I have confidence in him. Players have bad games and so does the coach sometimes. Cal almost overcoaching this team. maybe he feels he needs to? The number one thig is to define the roles. MKG and Jones cannot both be the 3. One of them has to be the 4. I would almost put MKG at the 4 since Jones is the better ballhandler and is a natural 3. But, Jones is also a good traffic rebounder and we need that.

I think that this is just how Cal works. It is a combination of experimenting and letting the guys hang themselves. Then--like RR said--Cal let's up play like an NBA team. Its as if he is saying--"you guys are so smart and talented--prove it.". jmho

I am thrilled to 17-1 and I'm certain we are final four bound. I'm going to be in New Orleans for the SEC and am trying secure final four tickets. Having said that, you can't be happy with how we look on offense right now or with our rebounding?

Its not perfect but put a little perspective on things, there are some issues but at least we have talent where we can fix some things and be great. Enjoy it for once! Calipari's post-game comments echo precisely the sentiments on this board. He said we can either change the way we are playing, and become a team that almost nobody can beat. Or we can just keep playing like this, and try to win as many games as we can, and just be happy with that. Straight from Cal's mouth. Winning every single game is wonderful. I was jumping and cheering in my living room as we won today. But if we are playing for a championship, we gotta get better. That said, 17-1, 3-0, and a #2 ranking is pretty fun.

Calipari is frustrated, however Calipari has responsibility to get these guys heads out of their ass.
I do think the way the refs are calling the Block/charge is inhibiting our drives to the hoop.
